Machinery Hacks know better with these ISO turning hacks and high feed milling

Before we deep dive into the topic let us first understand what is ISO insert? This system is designed in such a way that each important feature and size of the insert is shown using a code which is ideally the name of the insert.

So an ISO turning insert is tight fitted turning body which comes up in different shapes to settle in a point. They are considered to be highly developed bodies, geometrically featured to achieve 100% accuracy. The inserts are available in four natural shapes that include:

·        The shape of a diamond- It happens to be a four sided figure with approx two acute angels.

·        The shape of a square- it comes up with all the four sides being equal to each other.

·        The shape of a rectangle – this also has four sides, however two are longer than the other two ones.

·        Last but not the least is the shape of a rhombic.

Now let’s figure out what is high feed milling. It is a kind of machining method that provides depth of cut which is their along with the high feed upto the requirement. Actual this kind of a make reduces the amount of metal which got removed from a part and thus increase the number of filled up parts in a less time as required.

·        Following are few of advantages of high feed milling:

·        Increases the productivity to the next level: Its low cutting depth of the tool when combines with higher feed rate, the productivity increases to the next level.

·        The thickness of the tool: The chip thickness can reach up to the level of 0.2mm.

·        Reduces the risk tool breakage: As the grip of the tool is rigid th.e risk of breakage is reduced.

·        Best finishing or making of the design: The finishing of the device is much more apt, thus also reduces the cost behind additional finishing.

·        It also increases the tool life, by proper maintenance and repair if needed

There are many ore benefits align to it, which is tough to describe.

Now let’s look at the disadvantages of the same:

·        It involves high costing.

·        There is no proper training for milling person.

·        The cost behind milling cutters is also very high

·        Every time cost is involved, whenever there is finishing or fixing is required.

Thus usage of the same can be sometime beneficial and sometimes of less benefits also.  So as per the requirement and post finding out other advantages and disadvantages only it is to be used.
